The local government in 2015 had hauled out Delhi’s entrance for the UNESCO World Heritage City status, saying that if Delhi was given the renowned tag, it would put “confinements” on a few foundation works in the national capital.     (Dwarka)

Marlena said Delhi’s dossier for the legacy city status was set up in 2008 by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) and in 2014 it was submitted in the UNSECO amid the AAP government’s 49-day residency.     (Dwarka)

“However, the BJP-drove focal government hauled out Delhi’s entrance in 2015 and presented Ahmedabad’s designation for the esteemed tag. Delhi’s assignment was hauled out by the Centre as a result of their political plan,” Marlena told correspondents.     (Dwarka)

She included: “We have no issue with Ahmedabad being given the tag of UNESCO World Heritage City, however, pulling back Delhi’s assignment because of the political plan is not reasonable.”     (Dwarka)

On the focal government’s elucidation for pulling back Delhi’s selection, Marlena said standards were at that point there confining development related works in Lutyens’ Delhi and in Shahjahanabad zone (Old Delhi).     (Dwarka)
